Political chaos in Pakistan

Democracy is finding it's foothold in Pakistan quite shaky as the Pakistan Army Chief General Kiyani has warned President Zardari to clean up the political mess in the country before march 16.This warning comes soon after Kiyani visited US  and it's quite clear that US has encouraged Kiyani to take some urgent action.Amidst wide speculation that Kiyani might follow the footsteps of Pervez Musharaf,PM Gilani has claimed that army taking over Pakistan is absolutely nil.

For a long time there has been unrest between Zardari and Nawaz Sharif over the reinstatement of Chief Justice Ifthikar Chaudhary. The constant demanding of Nawaz urged Zardari to take the step of dissolving the governement of Punjab(Pakistan) where Nawaz Sharif's brother  Shabaz Sharif is the CM.Zardari even barred the Sharif's brothers from contesting the elections.Protesting over these issues,Nawaz has called for a long march which is set to take place on March 16.Zardari has imposed section 144 (This section states that no public meetings or rallies can take place) in the place where the long march is set to occur.Zardari has even got many Nawaz's supporters arrested and even has threatned to arrest Nawaz Sharif.

Sharif on the other hand has vowed that he will bring justice to the people. The major demand of Sharif is the reinstatement of Chief Justice Ifthikar who was asked to step down during Musharaf's regime.Sharif has urged the people of Pakistan to defy the law(section 144) and take part in the rally.Nothing seems to be going right even for Imran Khan led Tehrik-e-Insaf as Zardari has issued arrest orders for Imran Khan as well. But Imran fearing the arrest is missing from his residence but is suspected to have gone hidden. This is the 2nd time Imran Khan has evaded arrest, the last time being when Musharaf had issued orders of arrest.

Well,as of now there is complete chaos in Pakistan.March 16 is all set to keep us guessing what's going to happen in this troubled country.

IPL OR ELECTION

In the coming months of April-May,two major events are coming up in India. One event is the General Elections where around 70 crore people would be excersing their right to vote. The other event is where even more than 90 crore people would be glued to their TV sets as the Indian Premier League(IPL) season 2 is set to kick off on April 9.Well,now the issue between these two events is security. Some state governments have opposed over taking place of IPL matches during election as they would not be able to provide security to both elections and IPL matches simultaneously.

The Home Minister Mr.Chidambaram had requested the IPL boss Lalit Modi to postpone the IPL after the elections citing security reasons. But Lalit Modi turned down the request saying that IPL matches would not take on election days and the final counting day.Lalit Modi is yet to announce the revised IPL schedule but he has added 3 new venues where the matches would be played.Lalit Modi also assured that the security this time around would be handled centrally unlike the last time where respective franchise were responsible for security of players and also claimed that the security budget is 10 times bigger than what it was last year.Lalit Modi refused to budge on the postponement of IPL considering the crores of money riding on IPL.BCCI could have lost upto 500 crores had the IPL been postponed.

Considering what happened in Pakistan last week, the Home Minister was correct in asking the postponement of IPL.And adding further hurdles to the security of players was the General elections which is clashing with the IPL.But if IPL doesn't take place this time round, there is no slot available till next year and i am sure India will also lose the rights of hosting 2011 World Cup on grounds of security. After so much hoopla, the Home minister now has also assured security from their side for the IPL but has asked for a revised IPL schedule.

So then is IPL more important than elections? Well,IPL is not more important than elections but we have got to prove to the world that India is not like Pakistan and India is safe.Just consider, would China have not accepted the chance of hosting the Olympics if the elections would have taken place. No,because it is pride in hosting the Olympics and China would have never let that chance go.Similarly IPL is also an issue of pride for India. But GOD forbidden,if anything goes haywire in the IPL then India is all set to become like Pakistan atleast in the cricketing arena. So it is a dicey situation, let's hope IPL and Elections both go through smoothly.

India win maiden ODI series in Newzealand

The return of Daniel Vettori made no difference to the Newzland side as they lost the 4th ODI at Hamilton against India.Later today India missed the services of Sachin but despite that India won the match comprehensively largely because of the record-breaking century from Sehwag who scored the century in just 60 balls.

Daniel Vettori won the toss in this must win match and elected to bat.Newzland were off to a good start as Jesse Ryder and McCullum shared a 100-run partnership. But the good work of the openers was not well complemented by the middle order yet again as Newzland lost some quick wickets. But a late on-slaught by the Newzland stand-in wicketkeeper who scored a brisk 54 helped Newzland post 270 which was later revised to 281 as per the Duckwoth-Lewis(D/L) method.Hence India were set a target of 282 from 47 overs.

But this daunting 282 score was made to look small as Sehwag blasted off to the fastest century by an Indian in just 60 balls.Gambhir also scored a half-century and ably supported Sehwag as they shared an unbeaten 200 run partnership in just 22 overs. There were several rain interruptions during India's batting response but when rain came down during the 23rd over,India was declared winner as per the D/L method.

With this win,India sealed the series with the score as 3-0 with one match to be played yet. This is the first time in 41 years that India has won a ODI series in Newzland.Surely Dhoni & Co are on a dream run.Sehwag was declared as the Man of the Match for his superb knock of 125.

India go 2-0 up in the series

India defeated Newzealand by 58 runs in the 3rd odi at Christchurch to gain a 2-0 lead in the 5-match series with the 2nd odi called off due to heavy rain.Newzealand surely missed the services of their captain Daniel Vettori who missed this match as his wife is expecting their first child.Hence Bredon McCullum took over the captaincy for the first time and put India to bat first after winning the toss.He would have regreted this decision later as India went to score 392 in their 50 overs.

India for the first time in the series lost Sehwag quite early for just 3 runs.Gambhir who came next also couldn't contribute much and departed quite early. Then Sachin and Yuvraj put up a wonderful partnership to take India past 200 in the 31st over. Both ammased 69 runs in the batting powerplay which really hurt Newzealand.Yuvraj then fell after making 87 runs but Sachin continued and went on to make his 43rd odi century. With useful contributions from Dhoni and Raina,India scored 392 runs in their alloted 50 overs.

Newzealand gave a tough fight by scoring 166 runs in only 22 overs and looked like taking the game away from India. But then McCullum got out when he was on 78 and then all remaining players failed to make any contribution and apart from Jesse Ryder who scored his maiden odi century there was no positive batting from any batsman.Kyle Mills then provided some joy for Newzealand spectators by scoring a quickfire 54 but that was not enough to overhaul the indian total 392.For India Zaheer khan,Yuvraj and Harbhajan Singh picked up 2 wickets each.

Sachin Tendulkar was declared Man of the match for his smashing 163 off 133 balls which included 16 fours and 5 sixes. It would be interesting to see whether Sachin and Vettori will be available for the next game.

AIM OF TERRORISTS

My only question at this moment is what do these terrosrists want from this world ? Here are some options:-

1)DO they want thousands of people dead ?
2)Do they want money ?
3)Do they want to rule Pakistan or the whole world ?

Well the answer to all the above questions is same that is NO.All these terorists want is just FAME and POWER.

Well consider the 9/11 attack on twin towers, they just wanted to prove to the world that they can attack even the super power. If that was not enough, consider the series of bombings they carried out in India.Even the last 26/11 attack on Mumbai by a group of terorists was just to prove that they can attack even the financial capital of a country. All these attacks have been carried out with the sole aim of just getting the attention of the entire world towards them and display their power and guts in doing such heinous attacks.

All these terrorists mostly from Afganistan,Pakistan etc. even don't mind in killing their own people.Consider the assassination of Benazir Bhutto at the heart of the Pakistan country. And now the latest attack on the Srilankan cricket team where 8 policemen were killed just shows that terrorists will not spare anything.Even the numerous suicide bombings that have taken place in and around Pakistan in which thousands of Pakistan's have died goes on to show that Terrorism has no religion. The recent attack on cricket players also shows that the terrorists want maximum fame as cricket is a religion in Asian countries and some parts of the world.

All in all these terrorists just want to set the following statement in the minds of people

" WE CAN ATTACK ANYWHERE,ANYTIME "

Terrorist Attack Srilankan Cricket Team

Terror has striked in Pakistan again, this time unusally on the Srilankan Cricket team which there is to play a 2-test match series. What was to be the 2nd day of the 2nd test match in Gadaffi Stadium,Lahore turned out to be quite a death knell for some of the Srilankan players. But luckily none of the Srilankan players got killed barring some who were seriously injured. But the terrorists killed around 8 Pakistan policemen.

The Pakistan Govt and media were quick to blame that the incident wouldn't have taken place without a foreign hand. And this 'foreign hand' is widely speculated by the Pakistan media as India or LTTE(Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam).Mr. Zardari,President of Pakistan claimed that the perpetrators had carried out this attack to carnage the image of Pakistan(which is already quite bad). The Srilankan team was immediately evacuated from Pakistan and have flown back to Srilanka.

The incident happened when the Srilankan team were bound towards the Gadaffi stadium in a bus when all of a sudden a dozen men armed with guns and rocket launchers started firing at the bus killing 8 policemen and injuring several players. The alert bus driver just raced off from the place towards the stadium. All the terrorists had fled the pace and vanished in the crowd. It has also been speculated that LET(Laskhar-e-toiba) might have planned this attack as they wanted the release of Lakvi(LET operative) who had been arrested a few weeks back for allegedly planning the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Some Srilankan players even claimed that such an attack was not possible without the help of an insider.

This incident has really shocked all the cricketing fraternity about how could terrorists attack sportsmen.Such an incident last occured in 1972 Munich Olympic games where 11 Israel players were gunned down by Palestians. After this Pakistan debacle, the chances of Pakistan hosting World Cup 2011 are almost nil nad even no foreign team would be touring Pakistan in the forseeable future.A hint of this fact is when Newzealand immediately called off their planned Pak tour later this year around November.

WELL IS THIS THE END OF PAKISTAN CRICKET ? ? ?

A DAY BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY

It was 23rd February,2009 a day before my 22nd birthday.I woke up on that day around 6.45 am,a time which is quite early for me considering that day was a holiday for me as MahaShivratri was being celebrated in India. The reason why i woke up so early was because i had to watch the live and exclusive coverage of the 81st Oscar Awards on Star Movies.

I being an Indian and a Mumbaikar was quite obviously rooting for the film 'SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE' a film based on the slum life of Mumbai, which had got 10 nominations.Of the 10 nominations,3 nominations were for my favourite music director AR RAHMAN(ARR).One nomination in the Best Original score and 2 nominations in the Best Original Song category.Considering the fact that ARR had already won awards in the prestigious Gloden Globe and BAFTA,I and all Indians were quite sure that he would win atleast one Oscar if not two.So i kept my fingers crossed that he would win.And guess what ARR won not one but two Oscars winning in both categories and created history by becoming the first Indian to win 2 Oscars. The film also bagged 8 Oscars making it the film with the most Oscars this year.

I was just over the moon that day and just told to myself that a what a pre-birthday gift i had got and the joy cannot be expressed in words.Well,I can say that no day before my birthday had been so special until this year which i will never forget and always cherish this moment.

And finally -------------- JAI HO AR RAHMAN

AGE LIMIT FOR DRINKING IS NOW 13.5

Next time you find a teenager in an inebriated state, you can't even dare to scold him because he has every legal right to consume alcohol as the age-limit for consuming alcohol has been reduced to 13.5 in India. This age-limit a few years ago was 19 and way back in the 90's it was 28.

India has the highest alcohol consuming population in the world. This alcohol consuming population is even bigger than the total Britian population.Between 2002 and 2008 India experienced a 90% jump in the sales of alcohol. And due to this the Government gets 20% of it's Excise revenue from these alcohol shops. The state of Kerala has the highest percentage of population consuming alcohol which is closely followed by Punjab and Haryana.

This further drop in age limit for dinking has our Health Minister Mr.Anubmani Ramadoss in worry as according to him alcohol consumption is the leading cause for many diseases.According to me,when we have statutory warning on all cigarette boxes stating "Smoking is injurious to health",why not have a similiar warning on all alcohol bottles.I even think the awareness of the harms of alcohol consumption is not that effective as Smoking. The Government should take more innovative steps in creating awareness among the youth by conducting seminars in schools, colleges etc.

The two states namely Gujarat and Jammu&Kashmir can take a lot of pride because they are the only two states in India that have a complete ban on shops selling alcohol. Why can't the other states follow this example? Why is Revenue more important than the lives of young people?

FIR FILED AGAINST RENUKA CHAUDHARY

The Minister of State for Women and Child Development Renuka Chaudhary who had slammed the Karnataka Government for not taking stern action against the miscreants who were involved in the infamous Mangalore pub incident where a mob of men assaulted a group of girls in public.A day after the miscreants were released on bail,Renuka even ordered a re-probe into the case asking the Karnataka Govt to punish them.Renuka then even went on to call the people of Mangalore as Talibans which led the Karnataka Govt to file a FIR against Renuka for her remarks against Mangalore.

As we know the Talibans don't give any respect for women in their community. And looking at the Mangalore incident,i can say that, yes Mangalore is heading the Taliban way.Renuka was right in making the Taliban remark as the culprits who had assaulted the girls in public have been released in bail even after so much of evidence.I ask these moral police brigade's,who has given them the right to take up the responsibility of saving these girls from not going in the wrong way.I think everyone has his/her own right to choose his/her own way of living life.As far as the case of girls going to pubs, come on we are in the 21st century and according to the Mangalore pub staff the girls were not consuming any alcohol or any drinks which the Sri Ram Sene cohorts are claiming they were upto some immoral activities.

And finally look the way Democracy is being used by the politicians. One politician(renuka chaudary) is trying to get the miscreants arrested for their crime and on the other hand the Karnataka Govt has filed a FIR against her for some petty issue just to divert from the original case.Way to go INDIA!!!!!!!!!!!!

NARAYAN RANE IS BACK !

The shrewd Narayan Rane an ex-Shiv Sainik who has even been a Finance Minister during a particular tenure of Vilasrao Deshmukh was 2 months back ripped off from the Congress party for his ill statements against Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, who had denied Rane to become the Maharashtra CM after Mr.Vilasrao Deshmukh who had to resign post the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. He had even threatned the Congress chief that he would cause a divide in the Congress party in Maharashtra.

Just a few days back, the Congress party has decided to cancel the suspension of Rane after he had given an unconditional apology in which he had mentioned he was sorry for what ill he had spoken against the Congress chief. The Congress party has accepted the apology and even given him a minister post in the Cabinet. And the portfolio that has been assisgned to him is the Industry department.

Well, the reason why the Congress party has forgived Rane is quite clear. The Congress wants to garner votes in the Konkan region where the majority population is Maratha's.And Mr.Rane being a Maratha and born in Konkan is the perfect person to do the job.

As they say "IN POLITICS THERE ARE NO PERMANET FRIENDS OR FOES"

VALENTINE'S DAY-CELEBRATION OF LOVE

LOVE is in the air during this period of the month as every lover is looking forward to express his/her love to his/her valentine.Rather this year fear is in the air,as many "moral police" brigade's of the society have threatened to wipe out the valentine's across the country as Valentine's Day is tarnishing the Indian culture.

Sri Ram Sene one of the moral police brigade in Bangalore has vowed that no V-day celebrations would take place and any couple displaying their love or affection in public would be seriously thrashed.Another cadre of moral police named Bajrang Dal has even to said it would marry off couples who display their love in public.Surprisingly our very own Raj Thackeray of MNS has said that no men from his party would attack or stop the celebrations of V-day.The NCP has even decided to open shops where valentine greeting cards and flowers would be sold.

Well, now the question is why these elements of society are so miffed with the V-day? They claim that V-day has never been part of Indian culture and it has been adopted from the West.Well,India has always had a history where lovers have been beaten to death(eg:- laila majnu). But we are in the 21st century and every citizen has his/her own right to live life and choice to select his/her partner.Who are these moral police to tell me what is right for me?

Some people question do we really need a particular day to celebrate love? Well in today's world where every man is just so busy with his/her work that he forgets to express his/her love to their loved ones.Hence why not have a particular as V-day.

To all those moral police brigade who are trying to save the Indian culture,V-day is not just for lovers but even for brothers/sisters,child/parent and every other personal relationship. Why is it necessary that only a girl can love a boy? Why doesn't a mother love her son? Let's hope for the best this V-day and wishing everyone a HAPPY VALENTINE DAY!!

JAYAWARDENE STEPS DOWN AS CAPTAIN

After losing the series to India 4-1,the Srilankan captain Mahela Jayawardene has decided to step down as captain after the Pakistan series later this month. This news has come as a shock to the Srilankan team members.

Jayawardene has completely ruled out that the loss to india has urged him to take such a step.Instead he has citied his poor batting form as reason to quit his captaincy.Over the past one year Mahela's batting form has certainly taken a dip.

Mahela expects Sangakara as his successor but the decision is left to the selector and management.Mahela wanted to give his successor atleast 18 months to build the team before world cup 2011.Mahela has promised he would give 100% to the game and improve his batting performance in the coming games.

Mahela Jayawardene was quite a successful captain as he had led his team to the final of 2007 world cup in westindies which they had lost to australia but his batting had certainly taken a dip during his captaincy.

FACEBOOK-A NEW WAY OF COMMUNICATION

FACEBOOK--the latest sensational social networking site is surely changing the way people used to communicate.Earlier such sites had been used to just connect with ur friends and share with them ur photos, experiences and even ur daily activities.FACEBOOK ofcourse offers all these perks but it has been used by many people for some matters that attract national interest.

Consider the case where some members of the FACEBOOK had formed a community which was used to collect funds for the families who had lost their loved ones in 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. It even launched a community where u can have ur view over the recent attacks in Mumbai.

The most recent case of girls being assaulted in a pub in mangalore has attracted wide critcism from all parts of India. To protest against this incident,a 400 member community in FACEBOOK has decided to send pink panties to the Sri Ram Sene leader Muthalik on the VALENTINE DAY.Quite a diiferent way of protesting against a cause using FACEBOOK as a medium. Now Mr.Muthalik has decided to send a saree to each female member of that community as a response.

Putting everyone in disarray was a incident when a man had announced that he has decided to divorce his wife on FACEBOOK.It was the poor woman's friend who let her know about her husband's decision(poor woman was not so net savy).

Hence FACEBOOK has been now widely used for a variety of purposes. In a few years from now u will here some people announcing their marriages on FACEBOOK.And why not propose ur girl friend or boy friend on FACEBOOK this VALENTINE'S DAY...... seems to be a good idea!!!!!!!!!!

MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH CON-MEN-part2

Then he asked both of us to put all the money and valuables we had in his handkerchief and said he would perform some magic. The moment he said this i understood that he his to con me and i said,"It's getting late,i have to go to the bank".I even said,"I have no money".So he said,"Why don't u put your gold chain".I thought this is getting too much. The other man besides me had put all the money he had in the handkerchief and urged me to do the same. But then i remained adamant and left the place immediately. They tried their level best to convince me but i didn't budge.

Now while coming back from the bank,i found neither of the two men who were talking with me.Then i understood that both of them were trying to cheat me,the man from UP as well as the man who ws just walking down the street. Then i realised that both of them were partners.I rushed home to tell this incident to my mom.As i entered my house,my mother gave me a hug and said,"You have got admission in kit college of engg, kolhapur(a grade)".My joy knew no bounds and then i told my mother about the incident. She was just shocked to hear this and warned me never to talk with stangers.

As they say -- STRANGERS ARE DANGER

MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH CON-MEN-part 1

This incident happened way back in 2005 when i had appeared for many engineering entrance exams like iit, aieee, bits and mh-cet.And to my fortune i had scored less in all these exams and was unsure about getting an engineering seat.So everyday i used to get scoldings from my mom for not performing well in my exams.Due all these reasons i was very sad during that phase of my life.

During that time one day my father gave me a cheque which i had to deposit in a bank which was quite far from my house. So i left for the bank on my cycle. On my way to the bank a man aged aroung 25-30 stopped me and enquired about an address.I said to him,"I don't the address".But he started to tell me that he has lost his purse and has no money.I said "sorry",but he continued saying that he has come from UP where he was a sadhu(priest) and had come to Mumbai to meet his brother.

Slowly he started to enquire about me,asking "Are u studying?".I said "Yes".He said looking at me,"You must be through a lean patch in ur carrier, you must have got less marks in ur exam and so on".So i started thinking, was he an astrologer or doing some guessing work.Suddenly he stopped another man who was walking down the street and told the same story he sid to me.

SO WHAT NEXT ?
