Terrorist Attack Srilankan Cricket Team

Terror has striked in Pakistan again, this time unusally on the Srilankan Cricket team which there is to play a 2-test match series. What was to be the 2nd day of the 2nd test match in Gadaffi Stadium,Lahore turned out to be quite a death knell for some of the Srilankan players. But luckily none of the Srilankan players got killed barring some who were seriously injured. But the terrorists killed around 8 Pakistan policemen.

The Pakistan Govt and media were quick to blame that the incident wouldn't have taken place without a foreign hand. And this 'foreign hand' is widely speculated by the Pakistan media as India or LTTE(Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam).Mr. Zardari,President of Pakistan claimed that the perpetrators had carried out this attack to carnage the image of Pakistan(which is already quite bad). The Srilankan team was immediately evacuated from Pakistan and have flown back to Srilanka.

The incident happened when the Srilankan team were bound towards the Gadaffi stadium in a bus when all of a sudden a dozen men armed with guns and rocket launchers started firing at the bus killing 8 policemen and injuring several players. The alert bus driver just raced off from the place towards the stadium. All the terrorists had fled the pace and vanished in the crowd. It has also been speculated that LET(Laskhar-e-toiba) might have planned this attack as they wanted the release of Lakvi(LET operative) who had been arrested a few weeks back for allegedly planning the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Some Srilankan players even claimed that such an attack was not possible without the help of an insider.

This incident has really shocked all the cricketing fraternity about how could terrorists attack sportsmen.Such an incident last occured in 1972 Munich Olympic games where 11 Israel players were gunned down by Palestians. After this Pakistan debacle, the chances of Pakistan hosting World Cup 2011 are almost nil nad even no foreign team would be touring Pakistan in the forseeable future.A hint of this fact is when Newzealand immediately called off their planned Pak tour later this year around November.

WELL IS THIS THE END OF PAKISTAN CRICKET ? ? ?
