INDIA ACHIEVE AN EPIC WIN IN CHENNAI
India emerged as winners in the 1st test between India and England that took place in chennai.Though England gave a good fight but they were never close to defeating india once Sehwag played a cracker of inings yesterday to setup the chase for India which was chasing a mamoth total of 387 and requiring 256 runs of the last day.A day by day analysis of this test match is given below.
DAY 1:- Well England were off to a solid start after they won the toss and elected to bat.
They scored 118 runs for their 1st wicket after Alister cook fell for a well made
52.Later Andrew Strauss went to record his 13th century in test cricket. But
India picked up some wickets towards the end of the day and made scoreboard
read as 229-5.
DAY 2:-India started the day with Flintoff's wicket but Matt prior scored a gritty 50 and
took England's 1st inings total to 316.India started their 1st inings very badly and
lost wickets at regular interval and finished the day at 156/6 with Dhoni and Bhaji
still at the crease.
DAY 3:-Dhoni scored a fluent 50 and took India's score to 241.Hence India conceded a
lead of 75 runs.England started their 2nd inings well again and extended the lead
to around 207 runs.
DAY 4:-Andrew Strauss scored his 14th century and Paul Collingwood joined the party
by scoring a century as well.Apart from these two no England batsmen could put
a good score and so England set India a daunting 387 for target. Then came the
inings of the match from Sehwag who scored a blistering 83 from just 67 balls.
India ended the day at 131/1 with Gambhir and Dravid at the crease.
DAY 5:-This day completely belonged to India despite losing Dravid very early.Gambhir
scored a 66 and departed but Sachin continued the scoring along with Laxman
till lunch requiring another 174 to win.Laxman was dismissed post lunch and then
came the mamoth partnership of 163 between Sachin and Yuvraj which took India
home.Sachin in the process scored his 41st test century and Yuvraj scored 85.
In this way India registered an upright win against England and going 1 up in the series.
So the series stands at 1-0.This win will be remembered for quite a long time.

ENGLAND COMES BACK TO INDIA FOR TEST SERIES
After what happened in mumbai on november 26,the England cricket team left for their home midway through the One-Day series. Now they are returning to India for the planned Test series.Well then my question is that whether this is the correct time to play cricket ,when entire mumbai is yet to recover from the 26/11 debacle.
Yes,this is the right time for the game to be played because this will divert the mind of those traumatised people to something they have loved for years. For the past few weeks almost every news channel has been telecasting the same incident again and again.Atleast these news channels will now have some other news to telecast.I am sure this cricket will be able to clear some fear that is still prevailing in people's mind.
But we have to thank ECB(English Cricket Board) for letting their players to play in India.Had England evaded itself from the test series then i am sure India could have gone the pakistan way where no international side has visited for the past couple of years.Even hats-off to the England cricket players who have accepted to play in india. There was wide speculation after the Mumbai attacks the England team will call off their India tour. But according to the england players the way to express their solidarity towards the people who have lost their lives is to play cricket in india. There was even
speculation about some england players such as Andrew filntoff and Harmision will not play, but the entire England has turned for the test series. Some media even states that "Had england not comeback for the test series, their players would have lost the chance to play in the cash-rich IPL".
Whatever may be the reason for england to comeback for the test series,we all pray that the series goes on safely and hope India wins the test series as well.
IS MUMBAI THE "CITY OF DREAMS" ?
Mumbai is called the financial capital of india and why not the entire bollywood, cricket and all the who's who of india are settled in mumbai. But the recent terror attacks in mumbai has left people in every arena of life in doubt about their safety in mumbai. So will mumbai lose it's age old charm as "THE CITY OF DREAMS" ?
Well mumbai is sure to face the effects of such a massive terror attack at the heart of the city and so does the whole india. Some of the effects are already quite visible crystal clear. One of the major effect this terror attack will have on is the tourism sector.Every year crores of people used to visit mumbai. But this terror attack has really shocked the possibility of any tourist's coming to mumbai. And mumbai is not the only city which will be affected but the entire indian tourism will be affected. When a recent newspaper stated that the next attack would be on GOA which is the biggest tourist hub in india.
And think about the favourite sport of this country "cricket".All the major cricket touranments were scheduled to be played in mumbai such as CHAMPIONS LEAGUE,IPL,AND EVEN 2011 WORLD CUP FINAL.But this massacre has really put a question mark over the occurence of this tournaments in india. Many cricketers are worried that india might go the pakistan way where no international side has toured for the past couple of years.Well this is not good neither for india nor for the cricketing world.
Forget about cricket and tourism, the mumbaikars themselves are feared to live in mumbai. The proof for this is the empty malls, cinema halls etc.Well it will take long time for mumbai to regain it's old charm as "THE CITY OF DREAMS".

MUMBAI FIGHTS BACK!
Well now it has become a habit for mumbaikars to overcome such terror attacks is what some some people have to say! But the mumbaikars have proved them wrong this time round by not letting this incident pass away soon.Over a lakh of mumbaikars gathered at the gateway of india to pay homeage to hundreds of innocent people who lost their lives in one of the most horrific incident which no mumbaikar will forget.
WELL THEN WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCH AN ATTACK?
Is it our government? OR Is it our neighbour pakistan which is training such militants? OR Is it because we citizens never raise our opinion?
Well according to me all the three are responsible. We all have the right to blame the government for not providing full proof security for it's citizens only when each and every citizen exercises his right to vote. It's we who have selected Mr.Singh as our PM who has not been able to protect his own people. When the elections are on half the population fails to cast their vote which surely shouldn't happen.Nobody should forget that every vote counts!
Then our close neighbour Pakistan is well known for how it trains terrorists in it's own land.According to me our army should enter the areas where terrorist are hidden.Mr.Zardari has refused to hand over 21 suspects which the indian government wants from pakistan. He has been constantly denying pakistan's role in this attacks when our intelligence sources have enough proof against them.I think we India and US should jointly undertake the job of cleaning out this terrorists.
Then we as citizens have an equally important role to play in making this nation free from such attacks. Well then how can this be done.We must encourage our younger generation to enter politics.Just look at the age difference between an US president and an Indian PM .Come on now it's high time, we now require young leaders who can lead india to safety and development.According to me the candidates who contest the elections should have no criminal cases against him,he should be atleast a degree holder and he should be between 35-45yrs old.
Hundreds of policemen have lost their lives in safegaurding our citizens.I pay my condolences to their families and pray that such an incident should never happen again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
